A top Midlands lawyer has taken to new heights to scale one of the region’s top landmarks for charity.
Sarah Perry, the managing partner of leading Midlands law firm Wright Hassall, has faced her fears and taken on an epic challenge for charity.
Perry has raised over £1,100 by taking on the Myton Hospice Coventry Cathedral Abseil Challenge and scaling the walls of the landmark.
Alongside over 80 adrenalin-junkies, she took on the feat and abseiled down the 90-foot-high walls to raise over £1,100 through website and cash donations from Wright Hassall staff and clients.
She said: “When it was first suggested to me to take this on, I was nervous – the thought of going to the top spire and abseiling down is a real challenge!
“Myton Hospice does so much important work in the region so I knew it would be worthwhile to take on the heights with the support of the firm behind me and lots of colleagues attending on the day to cheer me on.
“It was wonderful to see so many people getting involved to support a good cause and I’m glad that we’ve been able to get involved.
“There was a really great atmosphere on the day with everyone coming together to take on the abseil and raise as much money as possible for Myton Hospice.”
Nick Abell at Wright Hassall added: “We are all incredibly proud of Sarah for facing her fears and taking on a challenge for charity, and for the impressive amount she has raised.
“The money Sarah has raised will be added to our total fundraising amount for Myton Hospices to include the money from our successful Charity Shop Takeover Challenge which took place across the region at the start of the year.
“To be able to support such an important charity in the region is a real privilege and we look forward to continuing with our fundraising efforts for the rest of the year.”
