An award-winning Midlands hotel has unveiled its new Christmas 2022 events programme early after seeing demand for corporate festive events surge.

As many companies, family groups and friends missed out on Christmas parties last winter due to Covid-19, Coombe Abbey Hotel near Coventry has already received an influx of bookings for December.

Ron Terry, Group Operations Director for No Ordinary Hospitality Management which operates the historic four-star hotel, said: “Christmas has always been a special time of the year for us at Coombe Abbey and we are delighted this year to launch an even bigger programme of events for all types of festive parties and celebrations.

“These range from small intimate Christmas private dining in some of our most regal period rooms to raucous medieval feasts, a Festive Murder Mystery inspired by Die Hard and a grand-scale Gatsby Glamour Ball.

“This winter we are relaunching our hugely popular Party Nights in partnership with Free Radio to include more of a festival vibe. For the first time on arrival guests will be greeted up the impressive driveway and lobby by firebreathers, carol singers and Santa.

“Also returning are the UK’s top wartime choir, the D-Day Darlings, for a Festive Afternoon Tea for two dates only and our extravagant New Year’s Eve Ball with fireworks and traditional Highland piper to welcome in 2023.

“It’s set to be a December to remember with nine different options to choose from to celebrate Christmas and New Year in style with friends, family or work colleagues. Early bookings are recommended.”

JD, from the JD & Roisin Free radio Show, will be hosting ten exclusive Party Nights between December 3 and 23 incorporating an evening of fun, theatre and dancing with bubbles on arrival, a set three-course meal catering for special diets, and an after party and silent disco from 7pm – 1am (Monday to Thursday), and 7pm – 2am (Fridays and Saturdays).

Throughout December bespoke private Christmas parties can also be organised for groups to include a private dining room, reception drink on arrival, a set three-course meal, half a bottle of wine per person and a DJ.

Other major events perfect for businesses or groups to celebrate the season in style include a roaring 20s Gatsby Glamour Ball on December 2 and 15 with cocktails, a four-course meal, live entertainment and casino tables.

Die Hard fans will enjoy a new specially written Festive Murder Mystery inspired by the 1988 US action film starring Bruce Willis on December 8, 16, 22 and 30. Scenes will be performed between three courses as guests seek to solve a crime.

Groups could also choose to book into one of eight festive Medieval Banquets held on December 2, 3, 9, 10, 15, 17, 18 and 21. These include a drink of mead on arrival, a four-course Christmas feast, goblets of wine and ale and medieval attire.

The force’s favourites sweethearts, the D-Day Darlings, are back for Festive Afternoon Tea this Christmas on December 13 and 19 at 12.30pm. Following the release of their debut album and special appearances on ITV’s Lorraine and Radio 2, another sell-out is expected. Festive Afternoon Teas with Carols will also be returning from November 27 until Christmas Eve.

Christmas private dining in one of the hotel’s exquisite historic dining rooms is another option for a choice of festive lunches or dinners with canapes and sparkling wine on arrival, coffee and mince pies.

One of the season’s biggest highlights is set to be a New Year’s Eve Ball to welcome in 2023 on December 31 in the grand Marquee with Champagne and canapes on arrival, a set six-course dinner, casino table, live entertainment, disco, traditional Highland piper and a firework display at midnight.

There will also be a New Year’s Eve Medieval Banquet to encompass a stage show, a four-course feast, goblets of wine and ale, mead and canapes on arrival, as well as an after party, traditional Highland piper and firework display.
