Businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire are being urged to send a message to the Government on what trading conditions are like as the economy emerges from the Covid-19 crisis.

Prime Accountants Group has extended its partnership with the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce on its Quarterly Economic Survey (QES), which acts as a barometer for the regional economy and feeds into the British Chambers of Commerce’s national survey.

And now, both the Chamber and Prime are urging companies across the patch to make their voices heard by taking part in the latest QES to give the most up-to-date information from the region.

The results will be analysed by Warwickshire County Council and will help to understand whether firms are confident going into the final quarter of the 2021 and what issues they are facing.

Sean Rose, head of policy at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are thrilled to continue our ongoing partnership with Prime Accountants Group on our QES, which helps to take the temperature of businesses across Coventry and Warwickshire.

“It’s a great tool for us in this region to understand how our area is performing compared to other parts of the UK and to know whether we are facing issues that are being seen across the country or whether they are unique to our city and county.

“There is absolutely no doubt that the results help decision makers at a regional and national level to gauge how businesses are performing and how they are looking ahead.

“The past 18 months have been a massive challenge for firms across our patch and the Chamber has been proud to support companies to survive during that period and now as they look to grow again.

“Part of that support is offering them a voice and the QES forms an important part of that.”

Steve Harcourt, director of Prime Accountants Group, said the information from the QES was valuable businesses as well as to Government.

He said: “We are delighted to once again be partnering with Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce to bring the Quarterly Economic Survey to businesses within our region.

“The QES is a vital survey which provides us with invaluable data about the local economy throughout the year.

“During the pandemic, the results of the survey have provided vital information to the government, ensuring businesses continue to be supported through an uncertain economic climate. The results of the survey through the next few quarters will continue to provide a much-needed indication of how the local economy is recovering compared to other regions around the nation and show which sectors are faring better than others.

“As businesses return to full capacity and government assistance is withdrawn, we can only hope that we continue to see business thrive within the region and the QES will be an important tool to take the temperature of our resilient economy.”
