Adults in the West Midlands and Warwickshire could be checking in to new jobs in one of the UK’s biggest industries later this year, with two retraining courses due to arrive in Coventry.
Coventry College has announced that a pair of brand-new training courses designed to help adults land careers in the air travel industry will launch in September as the industry continues its post-Covid-19 recovery.
Level 2 Cabin Crew and Level 2 Aviation courses will be available to adults in the region to help them secure careers as flight attendants, customs officers and ground crew personnel through intensive 10-week programmes designed to give them a flying start in their new roles.
The courses will cover essential topics including health and safety, customer service, and the use of industry-standard software, as well as the skills and responsibilities required for roles throughout the airport, on the plane, and everywhere in between.
Staff at Coventry College will also give learners expert advice on how to find and secure jobs in the industry once they have completed their courses.
Jenny Spires, Curriculum Manager at Coventry College, said: “We are extremely excited to be launching these two new adult learning provisions, which will help people to start an exciting chapter in their lives regardless of their prior experience and expertise.
“Both courses have been designed as concise but thorough platforms to help people retrain and enter an industry that is returning to pre-pandemic levels from a position of confidence.
“More and more adults are looking at how Further Education can help them change career and boost their prospects, and these courses, in addition to our other adult qualifications in areas including health and social care, business, and education, will put us in a great position to continue to support people in the Coventry, Warwickshire, and West Midlands region.”
