University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) Charity is holding a summer celebration to help raise vital funds for patients and their families.
UHCW Charity Fest will take place at Assembly Festival Gardens on Saturday 20 August, 12pm-6pm featuring live music from local artists and entertainment throughout the day, as well as gourmet food trucks and funfair games.
All funds raised will go towards supporting staff, patients and their families at University Hospital, Coventry and the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby. Donations will help to fund world leading robotic surgery equipment so that patients can recover faster and be home after major surgery within days, as well as tiny gel pillows to cradle precious neonatal babies’ heads. Discounted tickets are available for NHS staff.
o Adam Rubidge – Adam is a long term supporter and came up with the idea of UHCW Charity Fest as his family have been cared for by the hospital
o Caitlin McCarthy - UHCW receives proceeds from Caitlin’s single ‘Goodbye’ and some of her family members work for the NHS.
o Tom Barnwell – The Voice UK contestant
o The Upsiders - Performed at Godiva Festival playing on the Main Stage, Acoustic stage and BBC Introducing stage. Performed with Neville Staple as part of Coventry City of Culture 2021 bid.
Principal sponsors for the event Uzin Utz UK and Assembly Festival are very proud to be supporting Charity Fest.
Matthew Brown, Managing Director, Uzin Utz UK Ltd said: “We are honoured to support the UHCW Charity Fest in recognition for the excellent care and welfare the NHS staff provide to their patients. It’s great to celebrate UHCW achievements at such an event, which for the past few years has not been possible and we are looking forward to the festivities.”
William Burdett-Coutts, Artistic Director at Assembly Festival, said: “It is a privilege for Assembly Festival Garden to host UHCW’s Charity Fest. It is set to be a fantastic day of live performances and entertainment, but most importantly a way of raising crucial funds for local hospital staff and patients, and we hope that people across the region will join us to show their support this August.”
