National C&E for mental health professionals to be held in Coventry

Tuesday 27th of July 2021 12:46 PM

The leading national conference and exhibition for professionals in the mental health sector will be returning to Coventry next month.

Design in Mental Health is the industry-leading event for those concerned with the built environment in mental health and will take place at Coventry Building Society Arena on 24-25 August 2021.

It is now in its ninth year and it is the second time the event is being held at Coventry Building Society Arena.

The exhibition attracts exhibitors from across the country who will be showcasing how their latest products and innovations will shape the future of built environments in mental health.

Delegates will range from chief executives from trusts around the country, to service users who are helping to design the next buildings for their trusts.

It will also see the wider supply chain, including architects, contractors and consultants, visit Coventry Building Society Arena to meet with potential new suppliers and clients.

This year’s conference will welcome Jane Ray, Head of Hospital Inspections at the Care Quality Commission (CQC), as its keynote speaker. She will chair the discussion on the CQC’s regulatory approach and its priorities for patient safety.

It will also feature a wide range of expert speakers from across the mental health field, who will provide expert insight on the current situation following the pandemic and the future of the mental health-built environments and delivery.

The first day of the conference and exhibition will close with an awards ceremony – celebrating excellence in mental health across the sector – with awards ranging from product innovation and projects, to clinical teams and art installations.

James Lee, Event Director for Design in Mental Health, said: “It’s great for the mental health community to be able to finally come together for a live event and start to really look ahead to how it can move forward and progress over the next few years.

“We will be ensuring this is a safe space for our delegates and exhibitors at Design in Mental Health and this year we have a stronger list of exhibitors than ever before.

“Design in Mental Health is widely considered by those within the NHS and private healthcare to be the market place for the latest innovation and products in mental health, and we’re excited to see what our exhibitors launch at this year’s event.

“It’s a superb facility at Coventry Building Society Arena and we’re pleased to be back for a second time.

“The conversations had at the event not only help to tackle problems facing those creating built environments for mental health today, but also help to drive future innovation going forwards.”

Paul Michael, Commercial Director for Coventry Building Society Arena, added: “We’re pleased to be working with Design in Mental Health for a second year and to be able to facilitate the continued growth of its conference and exhibition at our venue.

“This is a major national exhibition and we look forward to welcoming professionals from across the mental health sector to our Arena in August.”
