I'm sorry to announce the sad news of the death of one of our founder Board Members, Steve Stewart OBE who passed away after a short illness on 18th February 2025. Steve was a key member of Place Board and a long-term Coventry & Warwickshire Champion. His long term commitment extended for many years to other organisations across Coventry and Warwickshire, with a strong focus on working with young people.
As the Chair of Coventry & Warwickshire Place Board and Champions, I'm sure I echo the huge debt of gratitude that this organisation owes to Steve over such a long period of time indeed, when I was first asked as Chair to form the Place Board over 12 years ago, Steve was one of the first people I approached having worked with him extensively in the past, and as always his response was yes! What do you want me to do! He was always a great team player and a true supporter of anything good about Coventry and Warwickshire. We shall all miss Steve dearly and we send heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
