Hundreds of jobs to help transform the UK’s diagnostic facilities and create a new vaccination centre in the area are among the wide range of vacancies available at Coventry and Warwickshire’s new online employment website.
The free Coventry and Warwickshire Employment Solutions website was launched last month as a result of Covid-19 to connect job seekers and employers with a range of services including current vacancies and access to advice and support.
The new portal has been funded by the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) in partnership with Warwickshire County Council, Coventry City Council, the District and Borough Councils, Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and the FSB.
The government recently announced two new state of the art, high throughput laboratories are to be opened. One of these will be in Leamington Spa, adding 300,000 to the UK’s daily testing capability when operating at full capacity. Vacancies for the Leamington laboratory are to be posted at www.cwemploymentsolutions.co.uk
Up to 2,000 new jobs will be created once the cutting-edge facility opens.
CW Employment Solutions is also promoting some of the 700 vacancies available at a new vaccination centre in Coventry and Warwickshire which is being led by the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, working in partnership with local NHS Trusts.
They have a range of opportunities including vaccinators, administrative staff, a clinical supervisor, a healthcare assistant, site stewards and a receptionist.
CW Employment Solutions sits alongside the CWLEP Growth Hub’s FinditinCW platform, which allows businesses to connect with local suppliers and supply chain opportunities across the region, and access support services, including the Coventry & Warwickshire Redundancy Support Service, Warwickshire Skills Hub and Coventry City Council’s Employer Hub.
Craig Humphrey, managing director of the CWLEP Growth Hub, said the website would help people who had directly lost their job during the pandemic to find new work as well as help retain jobs and skills in the region.
He said: “CW Employment Solutions is the free, go-to place for information about ongoing recruitment opportunities connected to the megalab, the vaccine centre and University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.
“The roles coming up include administration and entry level positions as well as qualified and technical roles for managers so I would urge anyone who hasn’t considered a career in these sectors before to register on the site because the roles coming up are not just for clinical staff.
“For those making redundancies, we are encouraging companies to direct their impacted staff to register for the website due to the high numbers of jobs available in the near future and to help their staff access the Coventry & Warwickshire Redundancy Support Service, Warwickshire Skills Hub and Coventry Employer Hub.
“There are more than 2,000 jobs accessible via the portal, and there are over 50 local, major recruiters including Sitel, Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Eddie Stobart, HS2 and the City of Culture promoting recruitment opportunities on the site, in addition to a range of opportunities in the care sector, sales roles, IT roles and administrator positions.
“The service is entirely free to use and has been designed with job seekers and employers in mind to enable Coventry and Warwickshire residents and businesses to get the support they require as unemployment levels rise due to the pandemic.”
