An historic Warwickshire hotel is starting the year with hopes of a double win in one of the hospitality industry’s most prestigious awards for meetings and events.
For the first time since before the pandemic Coombe Abbey Hotel will be battling it out against top five-star hotels and venues from across the country in the M&IT Awards 2022.
The Brinklow-based former Cistercian Abbey will be going up against some of the most well-known and respected venues from around the UK in two categories: Best UK Hotel and Most Unusual Venue.
This year’s awards ceremony, which is orchestrated by the Meetings and Incentive Travel magazine M&IT, is set to take place at Evolution, London on September 9.
The M&IT Awards is seen as the most distinguished awards scheme within the events and meetings industry celebrating the best, most dedicated and innovative members of this ever-evolving field. And what makes it even more special is the fact that they are voted for by event organiser professionals.
Over the years Coombe Abbey has been recognised a number of times. In 2019 it was named as one of the finalists in the Best UK Hotel category - a third year in the row against five-star venues such as Celtic Manor Resort, Chewton Glen and the Four Seasons Hotel London.
The previous year in 2018 Coombe Abbey secured Gold in the Best UK Unusual Venue category at the awards, beating the likes of Alton Towers Resort and Brighton Dome for the top prize, also won Gold in the Best Value for Money Conference Venue section and a Silver for Best Conferencing and Banqueting Staff.
A total of 18 awards will be up for grabs on the evening, which aims to honour the best venues, suppliers, agencies and airlines in the business.
Voting is now open and closes on April 29. Industry event organisers who would like to show their support for Coombe Abbey can visit https://www.mitawards.co.uk/voting
