Growth Hub helps Coventry business secure a grant

A sales and marketing support agency that helped one of Coventry’s leading business organisations with a successful telemarketing campaign has expanded and improved its online presence.

Momentum Partnership Marketing was hired by Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) Growth Hub for their survey services. The survey was created and carried out by the telemarketing team to collect intelligence from businesses around their Covid-19 recovery strategy and the impact it has had on businesses in the Growth Hub cluster region.

The company, which was established in 1998 by current MD David Godfrey and Thelma Osbourne, who has retired, moved from their office in Foleshill Road, Foleshill, to working from home during the pandemic, a change made possible due to their prior implementation of remote working technology.

With Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and web presence at lower levels than required at www.momentumpartnership.com, Momentum’s Operations Manager Heather Davies contacted the CWLEP Growth Hub to see if they could help.

Linda Savitri advised her to apply for a grant from the Focus Digital programme which is part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, and delivered by Coventry University Enterprises Ltd.

Momentum Partnership Marketing was successful in receiving a grant of £3,200 which has been used with their digital rebranding and that has led to the opening of an office at Fort Dunlop in Birmingham.

Heather said: “We supported the Growth Hub on a big telemarketing campaign early last year, so I knew all about the support and help they give to businesses.

“During the pandemic, our website wasn’t getting as many hits as we wanted so our SEO was our biggest problem and we didn’t have the resources at hand to solve the problem.

“We got in touch with the Growth Hub and they gave me loads of options and advice and introduced me to Focus Digital.

“We successfully applied for a grant and we have now re-written our website and together with digital marketing, these investments have improved our SEO ranking, and we have recently opened an office in Birmingham.

“Some businesses can be put off applying for funding, but it was quite straightforward, and we had support from the Growth Hub and Focus Digital throughout the process.

“We invested 60% percent towards the funding and, without the grant, we simply wouldn’t have been able to complete the work.

“Investing in marketing can be quite low on people’s priorities at the moment but this is actually the best time to do marketing and receiving the funding has been great.

“We have built great partnerships with everyone we have worked with, and we are seeing the results.

“Our team is extra motivated because when staff can see that we are doing everything we possibly can to pitch for more business, it helps improves morale.”

Linda Savitri, a business navigator at the CWLEP Growth Hub, said that digital re-branding was opening new avenues of business for Momentum Partnership Marketing.

She said: “The importance of digital marketing has never been as important for business due to Covid-19 which has also given companies the time to assess what is working and what isn’t working.

“Momentum Partnership Marketing carried out fantastic work for the Growth Hub when they were involved in a really important survey that we carried out among the business community.

“At the Growth Hub, we are here to help businesses explore the right funding avenues and put them in touch with experts who can make a real difference to their way of working which, in turn, can lead to the momentum towards winning new contracts.”

John Otter, of Focus Digital, Coventry University Enterprises Ltd, said: “Working with the Growth Hub, we have been able to assist Momentum Partnership Marketing in their drive up the “digital marketing ladder” and to enable them through our support and advice to become more innovative digitally and ultimately grow as a business.

“And generally as a project, we are looking to support growing companies in the Coventry and Warwickshire area to become more innovative through the use of digital technology – and we have a number of support mechanisms from 1-to-1 consultancy to grant funding. “
