Coventry’s Creative Quarter continues to welcome thousands of visitors throughout the summer holidays from movie fans for the first ever Star Wars Marathon in the UK to coffee lovers for Coventry’s only coffee festival.

FarGo Village is hosting an exciting mix of themed events to attract visitors from around the country to visit Coventry’s creative hub in the city centre.

Over 1,000 food-lovers visited the recent Rum and Reggae night with more set to attend the first FarGo Food Festival featuring a live DJ, delicious street food and 25 of the region’s best foodies this Saturday (August 17) between 11am and 6pm and Sunday (August 18) from 11am until 4pm.

For the first time ever in the UK, Live & Local, in association with FarGo, will be showing all eight iconic Star Wars films back-to-back – this exclusive Star Wars Marathon will take place on Friday, August 23, Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25.

The summer of fun will also see the return of FarGo’s Carnival Family Rave, a party for both children and adults with face-painting, dancing, a limbo competition and a dedicated sweetie stand from 2pm to 4pm on Bank Holiday Monday, August 26.

There’s also plenty of new events featured in the packed-programme such as the Urban Jungle plant sale on Saturday, September 7 for plant-lovers and novices alike. Full of plants, ceramics, accessories and more, this will be a great chance to grab yourself a new green friend, as well as hints and tips to become a plant pro.

This summer will also include old favourites such as the Coffee Festival which last year saw coffee-lovers heading to FarGo for a weekend of caffeine treats and coffee demonstrations which returns on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22.

Lucy Thompstone, Events Coordinator at FarGo Village, said she was thrilled such a wide range of events were on offer across the summer.

She said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer such varied events across the summer holidays including the first ever screening of all the Star Wars films to take place in the UK.

“This will be a fantastic opportunity for fans to watch all eight Star Wars films back-to-back over three days on a big screen.

“There are a very limited number of tickets available for the screenings as there are only 100 seats, so fans need to move at lightspeed to have a chance to join us over our marathon weekend.

“The events we chose for this summer include some old favourites which were popular last year, and some new ones such as our first ever Food Festival which we have organised following the success of our Cheese & Chutney and Vegan Festival. There is a real demand for foodie-related events.

“To finish our summer season, we’ll be celebrating our fifth birthday, on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29, with live music performances, our biggest Autumn Makers Market yet, the very best award-winning street food from Digbeth Dining Club and more. It will be a weekend not to miss!

“We’re also already planning ahead for all the upcoming events across the rest of the year, including Vintage in the Village, our Halloween market, Tacos & Tequila and, of course, our Christmas Makers Market events.”
