FarGo Village conjuring up Halloween fun in Coventry

Thursday 14th of October 2021 08:17 AM

There are only treats to be had at Coventry’s leading creative space this Halloween after it revealed five fun and fearsome events to be enjoyed in the city centre this October.

FarGo Village has announced a line-up of Halloween events to entertain visitors this month with a themed quiz, market, film club and themed bingo parties all on the cards.

The big day on Sunday, October 31, will see Trash Film Club bring an exclusive screening of The Wicker Man (2006) to The Box, as hosts Luke Jerromes and David Baldwin take on the notoriously bad remake starring Nicholas Cage with their hilarious live commentary.

Organisers are giving away a free bag of pick and mix or popcorn with every ticket to celebrate the launch of Trash Film Club’s new series at FarGo Village, and will be offered a seat service of freshly cooked pizzas from Dough and Flow.

The new event series is presented as part of CineCov and has been made possible with support from the BFI using funds from the National Lottery. Tickets cost £5 and doors open at 7.45pm. The film starts at 8.15pm.

But FarGo Village will kick things off ten days before Hallow’s Eve on Thursday, October 21 at 7.30pm with a Halloween quiz at Factory before the Halloween Makers Market takes over on Saturday, October 23 from 11am until 5pm.

Quiz entry is £2 per person and players can expect fastest-finger style questions via the SpeedQuizzing smartphone phone app on Halloween-themed music, TV, movies, and trivia. The winning team will receive a £50 bar tab, with second place claiming £25 to spend at the bar.

The Market Hall will then be filled with a selection of seasonal candles, needle felted pumpkins, jewellery, sweets and much more on Saturday, October 23, all made by local designers and creators.

Dabbers, which hosts raucous bingo parties in London and Margate featuring live DJs and comedians, will bring its Halloween Pick N Mix Bingo to The Box later that evening with a range of top prizes to play for across multiple formats.

Doors open at 6.30pm and guests can enjoy table service of themed cocktails, craft beers, brownies from Get Us Baked, burgers and street food wraps from Stripclub Street Food and The Paneer Wrap Company.

Dabbers will return for a Family Brunch Bingo suitable for all ages on Sunday, October 24 from 11.30am, featuring two games of 50 ball bingo where animal pictures replace numbers, complete with fun facts along the way.

There is also an exclusive pre-show slime making and craft station for youngsters, and a range of brunch options including pancakes and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Emma Harrabin, FarGo Village Manager, said: “We are extremely excited to announce our full line-up of Halloween events for 2021, with plenty of fun to be had for families and students alike.

“We are particularly looking forward to the Trash Film Club and Dabbers Bingo, which are both new partnerships for the Village which will continue into Christmas and hopefully beyond.”

“Alongside these seasonal activities, we have our usual FarGo residents offering all sorts of amazing food and drink and other items and activities you can only find in our corner of the city centre.”

All Dabbers tickets include bingo card and dabber, with food and drink packages are also available.
