Acclaimed performers and international artists will keep the good times rolling at Coventry’s beloved pop-up theatre and entertainment hub, with a string of new shows ensuring audiences are spoilt for summer entertainment as part of the legacy of City of Culture.
Assembly Festival Garden is set to welcome artists from across the world to the Queen of Flanders spiegeltent, and will build a brand-new outdoor performance space replacing the smaller Piccolo spiegeltent in time for al fresco fun at the peak of summer.
The Grammy award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir will bring their talented performers to the Queen of Flanders from 5 - 31 July as part of their latest international tour celebrating the inspirational power of African Gospel music. The Choir draws on the talented singers from the many churches in and around the Soweto township in Johannesburg, South Africa, and travel to Coventry for some special performances in the build-up to Nelson Mandela Day on Monday 18 July.
Later in the evenings, Europe’s largest burlesque extravaganza, Best of Burlesque, will head to Coventry for the first time with two shows on 22 and 23 July at 22:00 in the Queen of Flanders. The show, which has sold-out at the Edinburgh Fringe each year since 2013, features award-winning striptease, cabaret and variety brought to you by The Royals, the legendary producers of the London Burlesque Festival and World Burlesque Games.
Birmingham-based Paperback Theatre return to the Assembly Festival Garden with their charming open-air adaptation of The Wind in the Willows, coming to the Treehouse on 23 and 24 July, with two family-friendly afternoon shows.
Paul Simon and George Harrison both receive the Something About Productions treatment when their lives and careers are retold in the form of live theatre at Something About George (19:30, 21, 23 & 25 June ) and Something About Simon (19:30, 22, 24 & 26 June)
Friendsical, the parody musical inspired by the iconic TV show featuring original songs such as ‘(He’s her) Lobster!’ and ‘Richard’s Moustache’, will run at the Queen of Flanders from 21 June until 31 July.
The Choir of Man, which has wowed Coventry audiences across two runs at Assembly Festival Garden will be available to enjoy with showings throughout the week until 31 July.
And the last chance to catch the awe-inspiring Dragons and Mythical Beasts, which will bring its two and a half month stay at the Assembly Festival Garden to and end on 3 July.

Assembly Festival Garden was originally part of Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 and remains in the city until September 2022 as part of the legacy programme.
