Coventry College have been crowned Midlands champions of the AoC Sport 7s Regional tournament at Walsall RFC after winning all three of their matches.
The college’s Rugby Education squad will head to the national finals at Nottingham University in April next year, where they will face other regional champions in pursuit of the top prize.
Coventry College earned wins against King Edward Stourbridge Sixth Form, Newcastle Under Lyme College and Solihull Sixth Form College to run out as champions in the regional heat.
Pete Glackin, Head of Rugby at Coventry College, said: “This team has a brilliant sense of togetherness and put in some really pleasing performances in the Midlands leg of the competition, going on to become deserved winners playing a fantastic brand of rugby.
“We are well aware of the challenge ahead having represented the Midlands at the AoC Sport national championships many times over the years but are looking forward to the national finals in April, where the lads will have the chance to prove themselves against some of the top young players at colleges across the country.
