A 12th century Coventry hotel renowned for its picturesque views and award-winning culinary delights hopes its new one-off summer event is music to the ears of anyone in search of a good time.

Coombe Abbey Hotel, best known for its acclaimed afternoon tea and medieval banquets and 500 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland, will host its first ever Summer Silent Disco on Saturday, July 20.

Up to 18 hours of classic dance tracks from across the decades will be queued up across three channels designed for retro clubbers, Ibiza classics lovers and dancing queens to revel in – with music streamed to individual headsets.

The £14.95 entry fee, which includes a cocktail on arrival, gives partygoers access to the hotel’s marquee, dance floor, bar and street food available to purchase throughout the evening.

Running from 4pm until 10pm, organisers say the event is designed for over-18s, but perfect for anyone who doesn’t want to be out until the early hours.

Kathy Nakra, director of sales at No Ordinary Hospitality, which operates Coombe Abbey Hotel, said: “The marquee is used to hosting huge celebrations and parties, but this is something completely different.

“We’ve seen brilliant interest so far and spaces are filling up fast. We have partnered with some excellent DJs, with our top-quality food, drink and events teams also on hand to ensure it’s a soiree of the highest quality – allowing guests to let loose and have fun in an incredible setting.

“It’s something we are extremely excited about – and who knows, we could look to make it a permanent fixture on our events calendar!”
