From Easter egg trails around historic houses to a retelling of Dicken’s Oliver Twist or roaming the rainforests of Central America, tourist attractions across south Warwickshire are gearing up to help families have an egg-cellent Easter break.
Families are in for a treat this Easter with Shakespeare’s England members hosting an exciting programme of events across Coventry and Warwickshire, with free and reduced rate activities to suit every budget.
The Easter Bunny and his easter eggs will be visiting many historic homes on his easter travels, stopping off at Kenilworth Castle to hide eggs as part of the castle’s Easter Adventure quest, where children hunt for clues and complete challenges in the grounds and gardens to win chocolatey treats from Love Cocoa.
Entry to the quest costs £2 plus the normal ticket price and the quest runs from Saturday, April 1 to Thursday, April 6 and Tuesday, April 11 to Sunday, April 16.
The Easter Bunny will also be hopping to Sulgrave Manor for their series of Easter themed crafts, trails and activities until Tuesday, April 11.
A popular easter egg trail returns to Charlecote Park, where families can make new memories with easter themed activities including origami rabbits and a new egg trail through the grounds. The trail runs until 16 April 2023 between 9am and 5pm and costs £3 per child.
Charlecote also sees two paintings by the late Sir Edmund Fairfax-Lucy go on display for the first time.
Inspired by Dicken’s classic novel, the new production Unexpected Twist is a treat for theatre lovers and arrives for one week only at Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre from Tuesday, April 11 to Saturday, April 15. The modern musical is based on the book by former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen, with tickets starting from £15.
Bessie the Bus is celebrating its 100th birthday at the British Motor Museum this Easter, and the museum is marking it with activities including a fun family tour with Mavis the Bus Clippie or Jim the Bus Driver, and a chance to build your own car out of Lego and build your own 3D bus out of cardboard.
Magic Alley in Stratford is hosting an Easter mystery hunt, with guests challenged to solve the Case of the Disappearing Dragon Egg and, with the help of interactive performers, decide whether the egg has disappeared or been stolen by a suspect. Stratford Butterfly Farm have unveiled their new Rainforest Realm exhibition, where visitors can explore the climate and wildlife of Central American rainforests and meet their new resident, a Spectacled Caiman.
