Jobseekers will able to explore over 700 job opportunities when a leading jobs fair returns to Coventry this month.
National, regional and local businesses will be showcasing employment opportunities when the Coventry Jobs Fair arrives at Coventry Building Society Arena on Wednesday, February 22 from 10am to 1pm.
It comes as the popular event, which regularly attracts 1,000 people from across Coventry and Warwickshire, has expanded its presence at the sector-leading conference and exhibition centre in Coventry.
The event was first held at the Arena in February 2020 and took place three occasions throughout the year in 2022. Organisers have now expanded to four shows at Coventry Building Society Arena for 2023.
It will also take place on May 5, August 4 and November 10 as the show caters for increased demands in the region.
The February show is set to see 750 job opportunities on offer, with around 50 employers in attendance from a wide range of industries.
Visitors will be able to speak to a range of employers and vacancies are open to every jobseeker, from school leavers and the long-term unemployed to those looking to gain flexible part-time or contract work.
Employers expected to attend include shipping company DHL, West Midlands Police, Coventry City Council, Coventry Building Society, University of Warwick, telecoms company BT Open Reach and financial company TSYS Services.
Exhibitors will be recruiting for positions from entry level to mid-level management, with roles in areas including hospitality, customer service, administration, healthcare and many more.
Traineeships and apprenticeship programs are also set to be showcased to help people get onto the ladder of a new career.
The Jobs Fair company, which organises the Coventry Jobs Fair, has seen year-on-year growth and worked with over 9,000 employers since its 2010 launch. The company now holds 160 events across the country in 60 locations.
Organisers say they are already looking at further space in the arena to facilitate growth in the coming years.
Sean Heppinstall, Commercial Director at The Jobs Fair said: “We are delighted to return this year to the Coventry Building Society Arena for an expanded program of four fairs. The fairs are great opportunities for both employers and jobseekers to engage with the job market.
“Our fairs continue to be very popular and this year’s expansion will allow us to support even more Coventry and Warwickshire based jobseekers and businesses in what is an increasingly challenging job market.
“The events’ growing visitor numbers reacts to the needs of the regional job market, with Coventry and Warwickshire experiencing similar skills shortages to regions all over the country.
“The direct and open format of our fairs enables employers to source, recruit and retain talented individuals to help them grow.
“The space and facilities at the Arena also offer great potential for our continued growth in supporting the recruitment sector and job market.”
Paul Michael, Commercial Director at Coventry Building Society Arena, added: “Coventry Jobs Fair has been a huge success since launching with us and we are pleased they have decided to expand their schedule of events to four shows.
“Events such as this are vital in supporting recruitment locally and in particular will be crucial in tackling the skills gap in the regional hospitality sector.
“The events have been very popular and we are delighted to continue working to support the expansion of the shows with our modern and flexible exhibition facilities.”
Coventry Jobs Fair is sponsored by Coventry Building Society.
