A Coventry venue is helping locals get their fix of one of the world’s most popular sweet treats on a day where people across the globe are set to indulge.
People across the UK and the world are set to celebrate World Nutella Day on Sunday, February 5, and the team at The Sundae Club, Coombe Abbey are preparing to dish out record amounts of the beloved chocolatey spread.
The 1950s-inspired dessert diner, which is operated by No Ordinary Hospitality Management (NOHM) has listened to the public and is helping locals get their fix.
A resounding 80 per cent of the global population said that a Nutella pancake was their favourite way to eat hazelnut spread on a poll from the official Nutella Twitter account, and NOHM is offering a limited-edition Nutella crepe for £5 throughout the weekend of February 4 and 5.
The crepe adds to The Sundae Club’s new pick’n’mix-style menu, where guests can also add their own choice of ice cream, sauce and toppings. The first person to order the Nutella crepe will receive it for free.
The Sundae Club also craft indulgent waffles, sundaes and shakes, with regular specials on offer – the next one available is for Mother’s Day and will be layered with fresh strawberries.
Ron Terry, Group Operations Director at NOHM said: “The Sundae Club is all about enjoying delicious treats in a colourful, fun setting, so we are naturally keen to help others celebrate World Nutella Day.
“The Sundae Club offers a host of delicious treats, and we know how much people love Nutella, so if enough people order and enjoy our Nutella crepe, we might just have to make it a permanent menu item.”
“We are expecting it to be a big hit with visitors, who will also be among the first to try out our new Sundae Club menu with delicious new ice cream flavours and combinations.”
