One of the UK’s leading providers of exam centres for learners outside of mainstream education is expanding into a new headquarters in Coventry.
Tutors & Exams has signed a 10-year lease at Coventry Building Society Arena and has moved into office space at the venue.
The organisation was first established in Coventry in 2014 and has since grown to have eight centres across the UK – and an overseas centre in South Africa.
Coventry Building Society Arena will be the organisation’s national headquarters, after moving from Methodist Central Hall in the city.
The business has more than 30 staff across the country and supports more than 5,000 candidates nationwide annually, sitting over 10,000 subjects and in excess of 25,000 papers.
Moving to the Arena will give Tutors & Exams access to more than 4,500 sq ft of office space to host examinations, workshops and conferences – while further supporting the expansion of the business.
Tutors & Exams provides learners, typically those outside of mainstream education, with access to assessment opportunities regardless of age or background.
Last year it supported candidates ranging from age 10 up to 75, with examinations delivered in October, November, January and in the summer.
Its networking of exam centres across the country serves 63 per cent of the UK adult population and there are plans to open further centres to expand the business.
The senior management team, headed by company founders Jenny and Chris Spraggett, have more than 100 years of collective experience working within the education sector.
Chris Spraggett, CEO of Tutors & Exams, said the move signals a big step forward for the business and will help facilitate its continued growth.
“We’re delighted to have now settled into our new home at Coventry Building Society Arena. As a business we have grown exponentially over the last few years and now felt like the perfect time to take the organisation to the next level,” said Chris.
“The venue is a huge leap forward for us and is a welcoming environment for our candidates, parents, chaperones and learning partners.
“We would also like to thank the Methodist Central Hall for being our home for eight years and for the help and support the team there has provided us.
“We’re proud to continue to base ourselves here in our home city of Coventry. We are extremely excited about this new chapter and continuing to grow the business here.”
Coventry Building Society Arena is centrally located, has 2,000 on-site car parking spaces, an on-site hotel and rail station.
Paul Michael, Commercial Director at Coventry Building Society Arena, added: “We have a wide range of high-quality and versatile spaces at the venue, and we are pleased to be the new home of Tutors & Exams.
“This is a regional business that has grown into a national brand, and we are perfectly placed to support Tutors & Exams and enable its expansion in Coventry and beyond. We look forward to continuing to work with the organisation as it grows over the next 10 years.”
