Last chance to see awe-inspiring exhibition in the heart of Coventry

Machine Memoirs: Space by internationally acclaimed artist, Refik Anadol, will close at The Reel Store on Sunday 30 October.

The gallery’s first exhibition has welcomed thousands of visitors and is a long-term collaboration between the artist and NASA.

The mesmerising 360-degree experience uses artificial intelligence to reimagine two million images taken by satellite and telescopes, immersing visitors in colour, sound, and movement.

Visitors have loved the exhibition, describing it as ‘unforgettable’, ‘breath-taking’ and ‘inspirational’.

The gallery is the UKs first permanent immersive digital art gallery and opened earlier this year in the former Coventry Evening Telegraph building. The venue is a key legacy of Coventry’s year as UK City of Culture.

Building on international exemplars, The Reel Store will continue to host pioneering immersive experiences and showcase Coventry’s excellence in digital innovation with a new exhibition set to be announced in the coming weeks.

Martin Sutherland, Chief Executive of the Coventry City of Culture Trust, said: “Opening The Reel Store has allowed us to showcase this unique and immersive form of art in Coventry. It has firmly placed Coventry at the forefront of digital attractions in the UK.

“We urge as many people as possible to visit Machine Memoirs: Space before it closes – it is a wonderful experience for visitors of all ages.”

Having welcomed more than 23,000 visitors already and after a further final extension to the run, the exhibition will finish on 30 October – don’t miss out and book your tickets now at: https://coventry2021.co.uk/what-s-on/machine-memoirs-space/
