Challenges which could ‘change the face of construction’ will be discussed by industry experts as businesses come together for an annual conference in Warwickshire.
The Wright Hassall Annual Construction Conference has lined up a variety of speakers for the event on Thursday, October 13, which will run from 8:30am to 11.30am at Wright Hassall’s headquarters on Olympus Avenue in Leamington Spa.
Among the key issues discussed will be how the construction industry can reduce emissions to meet the UK Government’s net-zero target by 2050.
Peter Braithwaite, Director of Engineering Sustainability at The University of Birmingham & Senior Technical Officer on the ARLI Project (Alternative Raw Materials with Low Impact), will discuss how zero carbon and zero waste pressures on the industry will ‘change the face of construction’, and how companies can reach net zero goals.
Steve Davies, CEO of the Association for Specialist Fire Protection, will discuss competency in Passive Fire Protection (PFP), and how the construction industry can raise standards in building design, construction, installation and maintenance of PFP systems.
The final speaker will see Tim Jackson, partner at property and construction consultancy Calfordseaden, deliver a practical look at how legislation has changed in the construction industry over recent years, and how site operations can continue to improve and adapt.
The event has become an important annual fixture for those in the construction sector, providing expert advice and support on current topics impacting the industry.
