Coombe Abbey Hotel, just outside Coventry, is battling it out in the Midlands Food Drink & Hospitality Awards (MFDHA) 2022 and the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2022 in Warwickshire and the West Midlands.
The Midlands Food Drink & Hospitality Awards 2022, now in its sixth year, has returned after a two-year hiatus to recognise and celebrate the resilience of the region’s best hotels, eateries, restaurants, hotels and pubs, as well as its people.
Coombe Abbey Hotel has been announced as one of eight finalists in the Hotel of the Year category – and is the only one to be included from the Coventry and Warwickshire area.
Voting is now open for the final stage of the awards and winners will be announced at the Eastside Rooms, Woodcock Street, Birmingham on July 4. https://www.mfdhawards.co.uk/vote-now/

Rebecca Freeman, Head of Marketing at Coombe Abbey Hotel, said: “We are thrilled to receive these nominations following a roller-coaster couple of years for the industry. Our staff work immensely hard to create memorable experiences for guests and ensure they receive exceptional service. It’s great to be recognised for this.
“We’re proud to say our well-loved medieval banquets have now been running for 40 years and recently, our dedicated Production Manager has just celebrated 10 years with us.
“Post-pandemic we have also seen the business bounce back with the launch of the Abbey Artisan Market which stocks local artisan produce, The Sundae Club, a 1950s style dessert parlour, and Flowers at Coombe, which are all on-site within Coombe Abbey Visitor Centre. These outlets are creating a hub for the local community and opportunities for independent suppliers.”
The 120-bedroom historic hotel dates back to the 12th Century and is set within 500 acres of countryside and parkland. A restored Cistercian Abbey, its highlights include Grand Feature Bedchambers, Garden Room Restaurant, 11 meeting rooms, a marquee and a moat.
