Influential figures leading exclusive programme to support local businesswomen

Applications are open to join an exclusive programme aiming to educate and empower Coventry and Warwickshire businesswomen – featuring masterclasses and advice from three influential figures.

The Coventry and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust (CWRT) is launching an inspiring new programme, The Financial Fit, to help female business owners maximise their potential and overcome personal and industry obstacles.

The programme, which is set to launch in January 2022, will be spearheaded by three high-profile entrepreneurs including Holly Matthews, the Coventry and Warwickshire-based life coach and former TV actress.

She will be joined by Alex Head, founder of Social Pantry, a London-based events and catering business dedicated to helping ex-offenders find work in the catering industry, and finance mentor Bukiie Smart, who is the founder of Save, Spend, Invest and author of The ABC’s of Personal Finance.

The trio will feature alongside a varied line-up of local industry experts and business support specialists to deliver training to businesswomen across five virtual sessions including Money Mindset, Cashflow Forecasting, Negotiation Power, DIY Accounting Systems, and Financial Products.

It will begin as a pilot project to maximise the support CWRT is able to provide to The Financial Fit members in the months ahead, with an official launch celebration taking place at Hart & Co in Leamington Spa on Wednesday, January 19 as well as future networking opportunities.

Applications to claim one of the 15 spots on the programme will close on Tuesday, November 30.

Holly is the founder of the Happy Me Project, a positivity course that provides advice on how to overcome life’s challenges.

She said: “I’m thrilled to be involved in The Financial Fit and look forward to talking about Money Mindset with the amazing women involved.

“As someone who didn’t come from a wealthy background, I know the difficulties many can have when it comes to guilt around money or not truly believing they are deserving.

“The whole project is an incredible resource and I know it’s going to help so many women thrive.”

Its launch will see CWRT, which is primarily a finance provider, add to its personal support and advice services including the Jumpstart programme, which advises individuals on how to successfully approach business start-ups, new careers and personal finance.

Each member will receive a bespoke business toolkit created by CWRT, including a USB stick containing useful information and advice documents, as well as financial guidebooks and interactive workbooks to accompany the live sessions.

Sheridan Sulskis, Executive Director of CWRT, said: “We are delighted to be launching The Financial Fit as a way to support female business owners with industry-wide as well as individual challenges.

“There will be a chance not only to learn from expert speakers but to have peer-to-peer contact with other members and collaborate on their personal development.

“With applications closing next month and limited places available, we are urging all ambitious businesswomen in Coventry and Warwickshire to take this opportunity to be part of a select group learning from inspiring and knowledgeable individuals to take their businesses to the next level.”
