Coventry’s 2021 UK City of Culture celebrations will hit a musical high in the coming weeks with a host of musicians taking over the city’s newest performance venue.
The Assembly Festival Garden will welcome a range of talented songwriters and vocalists throughout August and September, adding to the wide variety of live comedy, children’s entertainment, and theatre already on offer to captivate crowds at this city centre venue.
The Assembly Festival Garden is Coventry UK City of Culture’s centrepiece venue, and has been designed from the ground up in line with current Covid-19 guidelines to keep customers safe as they return to live entertainment.
Chenine Bhathena, Creative Director at the Coventry City of Culture Trust, said: “We are extremely fortunate to have such a variety of acts blessing the stage at the Assembly Festival Garden, many of these shows were receiving some extremely high praise before the pandemic struck and they will soon be on our doorstep.
“The intimate performance spaces within the garden will make the perfect setting for all of these shows, and I think anyone who comes along will be incredibly impressed with the atmosphere and sense of community that they will generate with their songs.
“After 18 months with virtually no live in-person performances, the next couple of months in Coventry will provide the perfect late summer tonic.”
