A creative hub in the heart of Coventry which continues to go from strength to strength has joined the city centre’s independent voice for businesses.
FarGo Village is the latest organisation to join Coventry Business Improvement District (BID) as an associate member as they ramp up preparations for City of Culture 2021.
The artistically re-purposed industrial space in Far Gosford Street was designed exclusively to house creative, independent businesses, and joins more than 600 local organisations as part of Coventry BID – all of whom have the sole aim of boosting the city centre and bringing in visitors.
Coventry BID is a partnership between the businesses located within the ring road and those outside it who want to be part of the exciting project.
The aim is to promote and develop the city centre to make it a prime location for both tourists and professionals.
FarGo Village marks the first major addition of the New Year and the BID team will continue to bring more businesses on board so that they can all work together for the better of Coventry.
Trish Willetts, Coventry BID director, said: “FarGo Village is a cultural hotspot in the city centre, and having them on board as a respected voice in the future of Coventry’s city centre is going to benefit everyone.
“The site has been growing each year, and the regeneration of the area is a fantastic example of the upwards direction that the city is taking, and how the centre is leading that trend ahead of our year as City of Culture in 2021.
“We look forward to working with FarGo over the coming years in creating a lasting impression on the city centre, and preparing the centre for celebrations as we get closer to 2021.
Jo Truslove, marketing manager for FarGo Village, said: “We have seen first-hand the work that Coventry BID has done with some of our neighbours and colleagues in the city centre, and we could not be happier to be a part of that.
“To join the BID is something that we’ve been looking to do for a long time, and I hope that our contributions can have a positive impact on the city centre.
“We house a number of local independent businesses who will all be keen to get involved with the city’s future and this is another perfect way to do this.”
