A further education provider in Coventry has become a member of an organisation that acts as an independent voice for businesses in the city centre.
Coventry College has officially joined the ranks of Coventry Business Improvement District (BID).
The college was formed in 2017 when City College Coventry and Henley College Coventry merged, both of which have their roots firmly based in the city.
It provides learning for all stages and all ages, from entry-level qualifications, through to degree-level and specialist professional courses.
Coventry BID is a partnership between the businesses located within the ring road, who want to promote and develop the city centre to make it a great place to work and visit.
Trish Willetts, Coventry BID director, said she was thrilled to have the college on board and looks forward to their partnership.
“This has been a fantastic year for Coventry BID and there is so much more to come with many businesses interested in becoming members and some wonderful events in the run up to the end of 2018,” said Trish.
“We are so pleased that Coventry College has joined us on this journey as they are a prominent member of the city centre community.
“The fact that so many businesses want to get involved and shape the future of Coventry is incredibly positive news and it shows how things are changing and we are all working together for the good of the city centre.
“Anyone who would like to know more about the BID, what we do and to get involved should get in touch.
This year has been a very successful for the BID as business voted for another five year term of the organisation.
Following on from that, numerous businesses both large and small, have become members including Severn Trent, Study Inn and now Coventry College.
Assistant principal – business growth at Coventry College, Gemma Knott, added: “Coventry College are delighted to join the BID as a key partner.
“The BID provides support for all businesses within the Coventry city region and as Coventry’s only general further education it is critical that are on board with this important initiative as we move towards 2021.
“Our college offers a wealth of support for businesses through apprenticeships, community partnerships and bespoke training.”
