Club sponsors and weighing equipment experts, WOMAG, have been ‘weighing in’ with players from Coventry Rugby with interview sessions and weight assessments, using their state-of-the-art technology.

As a long-standing sponsor of the club for 15 years, WOMAG are an active partner, regularly engaging with the Coventry team by assisting with fun interview-style ‘weigh-in’ videos, as well as actual weekly player weigh-ins.

During the assessments, players are weighed on WOMAG scales to gather accurate data that’s used to monitor fitness, health and recovery.

“As a proud Coventry business, we’re committed to supporting Coventry Rugby and celebrating their achievements both on and off the field. It’s great to be able to use our solutions to help optimise the team’s performance” says Tom Marren, Commercial Director at WOMAG.

Founded in 1874, Coventry Rugby has a rich history and a strong community backing. Competing in the RFU Championship, the club currently leads the table with ambition to earn a promotion to the premiership.

Coventry Rugby’s facilities use weighing systems, supplied by WOMAG, into their routine player weigh-ins, ensuring reliable measurements that can inform training programs, dietary adjustments and recovery protocols.

For fun, Coventry Rugby release a weekly ‘Weigh in with WOMAG’ video where an individual player is interviewed and asked questions about their life, interests and their fellow team mates. They can be found at the Coventry Rugby YouTube and social media pages.

As a key partner to the club, WOMAG also personally sponsor Coventry’s Fly Half, Tommy Matthews.

“Our support of Coventry Rugby is about getting involved as well as sponsorship. Through the weekly weigh-ins, sponsorship of Tommy Matthews and the team’s use of scales we’ve supplied, we are thrilled to be supporting their success” adds Tom.

Established over 40 years, WOMAG is a leader in innovation-led weighing solutions, providing products and services to UK and worldwide customers from sectors including food production, automotive, motorsport, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, logistics and more.

“Our partnership with Coventry Rugby is perhaps a good example of the role of technology in sport. We look forward to watching their continuing success of the team while cheering them on from the stands!” concludes Tom.
