CV Life is the ‘operating umbrella’ that draws together the work and impact of both Coventry Sports Foundation and Culture Coventry Trust, in a fairly unique model that seeks to focus more on the impact that the cross sector collaboration can have on the lives of people within the city.
Since 2017, the bringing together of two organisations from within the differing sectors of sport, leisure, and physical activity; and culture, arts and heritage has presented challenges both organisationally and in positioning the company into this more cross sectoral role that focuses on impact.
Therefore, whilst CV Life now oversees the operation of numerous leisure and cultural assets within the city (The Wave, Coventry Transport Museum, Alan Higgs Centre, Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Centre AT7, Old Grammar School, Xcel Leisure Centre, Moat House Leisure and Neighbourhood Centre), it continues to grow as rapidly within its areas of outreach community provision through a whole range of engagement programmes and activities.
The last 10 years has seen quite an intensity of capital developments with the building and opening of the Wave along with new facilities at both the Alan Higgs Centre and Centre AT7, whilst also being at the forefront of cultural activity during the UK City of Culture Year with national exhibitions such as the Turner Prize.
The strategic focus for the next 10 years is most definitely to focus on the benefits that this investment and the cross sectoral working can bring to the lives of people within the city, through a widening collaboration with partners from across a range of sectors and areas of service provision.
In this regard, the format and philosophy of the Champions in bringing together and networking representation from across such a breadth of industry will be vital to the future partnerships that CV Life is seeking to develop.
