Companies at Westwood Business Park in Coventry got to sample the flavour of a new enterprise being launched right on their doorstep.

Representatives from around the park were invited to the neighbouring headquarters of PET-Xi Training for a presentation – and were unexpectedly treated to a business lunch by Warwick Food & Drink, part of Warwick Conferences.

Warwick Food & Drink is the award-winning catering within nearby University of Warwick’s conference, meeting and events business.

It has been catering on campus for University events and for organisations using the venues at Warwick Conferences for over 20 years – and is now offering the same service for corporate and private events across Coventry and Warwickshire.

Clive Singleton, commercial general manager at Warwick Conferences, said: “Warwick Food & Drink is internationally-renowned with two decades of experience catering for a diverse range of events on campus.

“It has a reputation for great food and service and we’re excited to now be taking that out into Coventry and Warwickshire so that we can cater for events in the locality, from business lunches and large-scale corporate events to family celebrations and barbecues.

“Westwood Business Park is just a stone’s throw from campus and so we decided to surprise PET-Xi Training which are headquartered there with a lunch, and it coincided with them inviting neighbouring businesses in for a presentation.”

Warwick Food & Drink is experienced at catering for any size and budget, and tailoring menus for bespoke functions.  It is renowned for using locally-sourced food, with accreditation from the Soil Association, and all revenue is invested back into the University.

The lunch arrived at PET-Xi Training in one of Warwick Food & Drink’s new-look delivery vans, with a summer salad buffet selection and luxury fruit platter served.

Fleur Sexton, managing director of PET-Xi Training, a training and education specialist, said: “We had invited businesses from around Westwood Business Park to a presentation about our new fully-funded programme Skills Support for the Workforce, which provides bespoke training for businesses to enhance the skills of their employees.

“It was fantastic to surprise them with a lunch from Warwick Food & Drink and everyone really enjoyed it.  The presentation, quality and choice of the buffet was fabulous, and you couldn’t fault the service.

“Westwood is one of the main business parks in Coventry and home to a variety of local, national and international organisations, and being located so close to the University of Warwick is ideally placed for Warwick Food & Drink.”
